Airports. They are the places people have to go to and no one wants to stay at. They come in many sizes and shapes and can go from being really fancy with some amazing stores (all expensive of course) and entertaining things to occupy oneself, to being really small with little to do and an even smaller patience for that potentially fatal long layover. However, there's a bright side to this story, and it's something i've found in my experience staying overnight in the airport, and its airport benches.
Benches in general are an important aspect to human culture. We sit on them when at the park, or at school, or just outside in general after a long walk or just to take a break and enjoy the scenery. Just like those other benches, airport benches serve the purpose of aiding and supporting you while you wait for your flight to commence boarding.
On top of the short waits, they are there to aid us as beds when we must stay overnight. In fact, having stayed in two different airports overnight all within one trip, I must say, I got more satisfactory sleep on the bench than I did on the plane. Utilize them.
This love letter stems from my experience sleeping on an airport bench in my most drowsy wake state as opposed to sleeping in the airplane during flight. It may look uncomfortable, but give it a chance. Who knows, you might find it helps you retain some sanity, as it did me.
